Mexico IGI Batch Number Update

As of March 14, 2009 more than 3579 batch numbers for 32 states have been added. You can also find links to other sites with batch number information for Jalisco, Aguascalientes, and Zacatecas.

Welcome

Welcome to the Mexico IGI batch number experiment. I am hoping by creating a wiki many people will be willing to contribute IGI batch numbers as they find them. This will be an easy way for everyone to contribute and share batch information with others around the world.

Within each state you will see a handful of different batch types. Here is what you can expect...

• As a general rule (not an exact science) batch numbers starting with the following letters have the following significance:
  • C = confirmations/baptisms of both males and females
  • J = confirmations/baptisms of males only
    
  • K = confirmations/baptisms of females only
    
  • M = marriages - try searching for both the groom and bride

Bienvenido al experimento de números batch de México. Tengo esperanzas que con la creación de este wiki muchas otras personas se animaran a contribuir los números batch del IGI cuando los encuentran. Esto sera una manera fácil para que todo el mundo pueda compartir y contribuir información batch con todas las personas del mundo.

Entre cada estado vera varios tipos de batch. Esto es lo que puede esperar a encontrarse...

Como regla general (no una ciencia exacta) números batch empezando con las siguientes letras tienen el significado que sigue:
C = confirmaciones/bautismos de hombres y mujeres
J = confirmaciones/bautismos solamente de hombres
K = confirmaciones/bautismos solamente de mujeres
M = matrimonios- trata de buscar por el apellido de la novia y el novio

How to Contribute

There really isn't a right or wrong way to share your information, but let's set a couple of rules so that we have some consistency across the board.

1. Please list all towns/cities in alphabetical order within each state. There will be one page listing all the Mexican states with a number next to it representing the number of towns that have been identified as having at least one batch number.
2. As you add towns/cities try to add the in alphabetic order. I think a table format will work the best. See the Nuevo Leon page as an example.
3. This is a community effort done by volunteers. Let's all play nice and communicate effectively via the site or via email. The more we work together on this the quicker we can identify the batch numbers for Mexico and make our research a lot easier.
4. Most importantly...have fun and be creative. Please feel free to add any other additional information about Mexico genealogy / family history resources as you would like.

Como Contribuir

No hay manera especifica para compartir su nformación, pero trataremos de establecer unas reglas para que tengamos consistencia sobre el tablón.

1. Por favor de apuntar todas las cuidades/pueblos en orden alfabetico entre cada estado. Estara una pagina con todos los estados mexicanos con un numero al lado que representara el numero de cuidades que se han identificado con tener por lo menos un numero batch.
2. Al añadir mas cuidades por favor de mantener el orden alfabético. Yo pienso que el método de tablón trabaja mejor. Por favor de hecharle ojo a la pagina de Nuevo Leon como un buen ejemplo.
3. Este es un esfuerzo de comunidad hecho por voluntarios. Por favor de jugar y portarse bien y comunicarse efectivamente vía el sitio o correo electrónico. Lo mas que trabajemos juntos en este proyecto con mas rapidez podríamos identificar los números batch de Mexico y avanzar nuestras investigaciones con facilidad.
4. Lo mas importante-divertirse y ser creativo. Por favor de añadir cualquier otra información adicional sobre el tema de genealogia mexicana/recursos de genealogía familiar que quiera.
