"are there still family living there or its abandoned, what information you know about this hacienda( please give me all the details of what you know)? does your family still owns this place if not what happen? give any details you might know, " Susie, as far as I know my mother used to tell me that her relatives owned a Hacienda Coronado in the vicinity of Matehuala, Charcas or Catorce San Luis Potosi. She mentioned that the property title had the Seal of Spain. It was customary to give Land Grants to the Conquistadores. I found out recently that there are various estates with the last name Coronado. My grand father was born around 1877, and married Estanislada Mata around 1898. Its pretty hard to pinpoint ownership of this Hacienda, due to the Mexican Revolution, the government distributed great portions of land called Ejidos to the local citizens. You can access the web under www.Matehuala.com.mx/historia & read about Hacienda Coronado around the year 1638. About relatives, I have no idea, I can't even find records of my grand father and grand mother yet. If you or any one can help I will be extremely happy and thankful.

Susie, I followed your suggestion, and wrote an announcement on Facebook. I might reach more Coronados this way. Keep in touch if you find news about the Coronados.

"Susie, You are not alone doing research about family roots, I have been looking for about three years without any luck. It would be nice if some of your relatives are related to mine, take a look at my (Tread) I posted above this general section and try to research all the information about all my relatives. I wrote names and dates and the relationship between them. I see that you listed the last name, (Lopez). It happens that my Great grand mother's name was (Rosalia Lopez) married to Juan Coronado . In reference to your great grand father that fought with pancho villa, my father also fought with pancho villa along grown up people at the age of nine years old. His mother's maiden name was also Lopez, so try to find out if any of your relatives can make any connection with this information." i'm going to talk to my aunt on friday and see she knows any of the people you mention, if she knows or heard of those names

Ms. Susie Barrios, In regards to your question about the existence of the Hacienda Coronado, yes is still there. You can use www.Ask.com and the Google research Engine and you will find information in regards to this Hacienda. Read the information I have posted in regards to the last name Lopez in my previous ( Treads)
