Susie, as far as I know my mother used to tell me that her relatives owned a Hacienda Coronado in the vicinity of Matehuala, Charcas or Catorce San Luis Potosi. She mentioned that the property title had the Seal of Spain. It was customary to give Land Grants to the Conquistadores. I found out recently that there are various estates with the last name Coronado. My grand father was born around 1877, and married Estanislada Mata around 1898. Its pretty hard to pinpoint ownership of this Hacienda, due to the Mexican Revolution, the government distributed great portions of land called Ejidos to the local citizens. You can access the web under www.Matehuala.com.mx/historia & read about Hacienda Coronado around the year 1638. About relatives, I have no idea, I can't even find records of my grand father and grand mother yet. If you or any one can help I will be extremely happy and thankful.
